Mthoko M. Mpofana's first auto blog.

I'm one of those people that loves the idea of having their own brands, cars are no different. I often dream of having a big car brand, I'd call it "M. M." after my first names & it would specialise in electric & solar-powered cars which would go just a little faster than the national speed limit of the country. This remains a dream however until I can find the time & finances to make it a reality. I'm not a petrol head but I can drive a basic car & change a car tyre, I suppose, but I'm not a genuine car fundi. That being said I do have my favourite cars. I like small vans (pick-up trucks), the idea of a sleek working car that can pick up a ton is appealing to me. Hatchbacks are my least favourite because I figure if it's a van, it's a van & if it's a sedan, it's a sedan. A hatchback is an uncomfortable inbetween that isn't really settling to my taste personally for some reason.

Here is a list of some of my favourite cars:

TOP THREE:-
• The Mazda MX-5 is my dream car, maybe it's the drop-top but I like the fact that it's a high-performance car that isn't too heavy on the petrol.
• Porsche Boxster comes in second because it's a classic & an icon.
AUDI R8 etron is third because of the appeal of German engineering & the fact that it's an electric sports car.

Next on my list are a combo of classics, concept cars, electric cars & performance cars:-
McLaren 12 Spider (brilliant car)
• Tesla Model S
• Scion FR-S
• Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive
• AUDI TTS Coupé
• Citroën Survolt
Aston Martin DB9 Coupé (legendary British icon)
• Bugatti 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse
• Mercedes-Benz Silver Lightning
• EVX Immortus Solar Car

Next are cars that aren't exceptional but I'd love to have nonetheless:-
• Lotus Exige S Roadster
• Nissan GT-R
• Ferrari 458 Italia (only like this car because of the Ferrari heritage)
• Lamborghini Gallardo
• Birkin S3 Roadster (not my ideal car but love the fact that it's from Durban)
• The Optimal Energy Joule is the only hatchback in the entire list because it's electric & South African

I could've put the UKZN Hulamin Solar Car but that's a little too much patriotism for objectivity. That's my list of cars I like & would love to have.
