If I was the President of the Republic of South Africa.

Image
If I was President of South Africa, I'd follow the Thomas Sankara model of leadership & be a hands on president. I'd obviously focus on things that will improve the land & things that will benefit me once I retire. I would be a people's president because I like a land run by a nation as opposed to an individual. Here are a few things that I'll focus on were I to obtain power. • Create provinces according to pre-colonial nations:  Anyone who knows me, knows I'm bit of a socialist nationalist who favours individual freedoms so I'd give every land in the country back to the people who inhabited it originally including my very own Mpofana clan . The provinces would be autonomous & would be given full right to a referendum to gain independence or independence from South Africa if that people's traditional leader (i. e. their monarch) wishes.  • Transport:  We always complain of the transport system in this land & some foreigners even think the...

Sovereignty

Image
ABOVE: A common slogan & imagery when people rebel against oppressive, corrupt or foreign governance. We have a problem. We just simply can't mind our own business. I'm referring to this concept I learnt in the past decade, sovereignty . According to my dictionary, it is:- "The state of making laws and controlling resources without the coercion of other nations" for a country or for the individual,  "The liberty to decide one's thoughts and actions." And I understand that. An individual is their own sovereign, a family is sovereign over their own day-to-day practices, a romantic couple is sovereign in things happening between them, a nation is sovereign over the politics of their land. I have always seen things this way for as long as I can remember. It's your life & you will meet your fate, where will other people be when you're in the dumps by yourself? They won't be there because they have their own lives to live. Li...

Ukufika kwamaShayina ezweni...

Image
Namuhla sihlangene nezindaba ezithi unkosikazi waseShayina u- Xiaomei Havard uzothatha isihlalo sikaMnumzane u-Jackson Mthembu (osanda kudlula ngenxa kakhuvethe) ephalamende laseNingizimu Afrika. Abanye abayifuni lendaba ngoba bebona amaShayina afuna ukufika lapha e-Afrika khona ezosiphatha. Owami umubono uthi, uma abaholi bethu eNingizimu Afrika abangabantu abansundu behlezi begxekwa ngokungaphathi kahle izwe, yini kunganikezwa abanye abangenza ngcono? Ngakho-ke mina, ngifuna ukuyibona imisebenzi ka-Xiaomei Havard lona esikhundleni sobuholi. Ngifuna ukubona ukuthi angenza ngcono na. Uma engayazi into eyenzayo, akhonjwe umnyango. Asisanakwenza lutho ngoba nanka amaShayina afike ayimbumba eNingizimu Afrika.   Ngapha inkampani yaseShayina, i-Huawei, iyavalwa eMelika ngoba kuthiwa isebenzisa amafoni ayo ukuthi ibheke ukuthi abantu benzani eMelika; ngapha amaShayina afuna ukuphatha amazwe khona lapha e-Afrika ngokukweletisa abaholi bethu izimali abangeke bakwazi ukuzikh...

Democracy

Image
Foreword : The highest form of authority from my point of view is the individual because you only listen to laws & authority because you yourself choose to. Even if there are consequences for disobeying laws, these consequences themselves can be thwarted by actions of the individual. So, for me, individuals are the highest form of authority & individuals form a land & the greatest group of those individuals decide the outcome of a land. This is what I assume democracy is.  We've seen many elections around the world & here in Africa most of them have some controversy like missing ballot boxes, ghost voters etc. This Greek invention of democracy does not seem to work most times in Africa being a people that were ruled by kings & chiefs. So how can we tweak it to suit Africans? Since the world has decided that majority rules is the best way to run a land, we can't exactly return to full absolute monarchy with all it's colourful benefits & flaws so we...

OFF TOPIC: Donald Trump, America's failure to understand sentiments/culture.

Image
I've learnt a lot about politics in the past few years (since 2014). I now understand that populists & dictators are misunderstood by the West because of different cultures & customs of certain lands. I can see this as someone who is relatively familiar with the Usonian & English-speaking world.  Before you judge me as being sympathetic to tyrants, I think you must take time & research all these dictators the world hates so much. Hitler, Gaddafi, Idi Amin Dada etc. These were people that got into power because they believed that they could make a difference & make their nations great. Except for Hitler in Germany, many nations a decade or two after the dictator has fallen claim that they either miss the dictator or life was better under the dictator. Dictators are not made of steel, emotionless & heartless as the world would like to make us believe they are. So-called dictators are human, flesh & bone like you & I.  Mr. Donald Trump was the furt...
